We're Hiring - Administrative Assistant

The Washington State Association of Head Start & ECEAP (WSA) is a small nonprofit that does advocacy and training related to early learning and parent engagement and empowerment.

We are hiring an administrative assistant to help us with conference preparation, web site and data base maintenance, and basic clerical and organizational help. We are looking for someone with strong organizational and administrative skills that can work independently and complete tasks in a professional and timely manner.

Position: Administrative Assistant

Position Summary:  Provides administrative assistance and support to the Washington State Association (WSA) and Washington State Training Consortium (WSTC).


Position Responsibilities:

  • Provide administrative support to the Executive Director and the Deputy Director, including scheduling.
  • Assist with training conferences and professional development events/activities. This includes assistance with registration, logistics, reimbursements, copying, conference set up, on site assistance as needed, and post-evaluation process.
  • Maintain and update WSA database and distribution lists.
  • Assist with meeting planning, conference calls, note taking, and some general correspondence to members.
  • Assist WSA staff by keeping office well maintained and organized.
  • Performs other duties as assigned by supervisor.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma with an AA or more preferred.
  • Ability to work independently and prioritize multiple responsibilities.
  • Good administrative and organizational skills.
  • Possess strong interpersonal skills including ability to communicate clearly, accurately and effectively with diverse populations and all levels of personnel.
  • Minimum of 12 months office experience or equivalent skill level
  • Working knowledge of standard office machines and procedures.  Experience with Word is required, and with Outlook, Excel, Publisher and PowerPoint a plus.
  • Valid Washington State driver’s license.
  • Bilingual speaker preferred.

Work Site: WSA Office, 345 118th Ave SE, Suite 110, Bellevue, WA 98005

Hours: 30-40 hours per week; additional hours may be required during conferences.

Hourly Rate: DOE, $14-$18
