Parent Ambassadors Advocate for Head Start Funding in DC

WSA brought five of our 2010 WSA Parent Ambassadors to Washington DC in September.  They attended the National Head Start Association Leadership Conference, gave a workshop to other participants on Advocacy, and met with both Senator Murray (pictured below) and Senator Cantwell. Our parents also reached eight of our 9 legislative offices to advocate for Head Start/Early Head Start and child care funding, and had a great, meeting with Yvette Sanchez Fuentes, Director of the Office of Head Start, and several of her senior staff members.  They did an incredible job!
